|Work Title: Russell|
This is one of my coolest "West Coast Driftures", as she stands almost 5 feet and moves with the wind. The wood used to make this WCO was found in my neighbor’s garden and when I saw it, I begged to have it. Then with the torso and legs all I needed was a head, which I just so happen to have in my collection. Together with some unique building, seaweed and imagination this Drifture came to life. She was then named after my neighbor.
“Russell” also made her first public appearance in the Fine Works in Wood Show 2002 held at Out of Hand Gallery where she was one of seven Driftures exhibited in this wonderful show.
Her golden glow shimmers as she moves around a room
With a dancers ease
She rustles through with her hair flowing Behind her
Give her a light push and watch
West Coast beauty at its finest.
